Time to get  through another labor day weekend!

Happy Labor Day Data Report Info users!,

Labor Day is a public holiday  held in honor of working people,

I'm a masker in public. On a regular basis, I would like to see more safety maskers out there and a world where a lot of people can work from home when possible. I am in support of public masking and taking health precautions against contagious airborne illnesses in this day and age.

Here is a mini concert from the safety of my home to encourage others to try to stay safe  at home and be creative sharing with one another the things they love online...

Here's my Happy Labor Day Weekend mini concert!

P.S. one of my goals is  provide more psychological comfort to to those who wear safety masks and those who take extra precautions against airborne viruses. To me it’s good to make efforts such as masking and turning to online solutions in meeting social needs while encouraging behavior that leads to less illness and more wellbeing.

Hi, I am a masker in public and outdoors and like to dedicate my next couple performances to those that support their loved ones when it comes to masking and taking extra precautions to prevent viruses and living most comfortable because I never get sick and haven't gotten sick in over five years probably because of my masking and precautions.

My loved one and I walked several times masked of course on our street this week for health and then we danced in doors and we played music instruments. I am very fortunate to have a loved one who is of the same mind as me when it comes to staying safe. I am hoping by sharing online my experiences with taking precautions in this forum and some of the loves of my life such as music that those of you who also mask and take precautions against viruses feel as good as I do. I had a great week doing the things I love and being safe having taken precautions such as masking so I celebrate by jamming on my electric guitar for you.

I hope you are able to enjoy the things you love like walking and playing music and etc. and still be safe like me and my loved one as we continue to mask these days.

I like creating, writing, and jamming online in my room or house sharing online rather than in person. To me it just rocks. Its more personal doing things online. I love living this masked way of life sharing music and things I like online rather than face to face or at a mass gathering. To me people are just being socially needy when they have to go out shopping or celebrating in a mass gathering .. I'd rather see them share something online of themself that is creative or makes them individually happy.. I'm not much of a party guy..I like having good time at home playing it safe..  I'm more myself at home anyway...
So here's me enjoying my life ...Here's my latest stay safe at home weekend online music performances...

Groove And Vibe With Some Chicago Blues In F

I dedicate these next little electric guitar performances to those seemingly rare individuals that stay safe at home, out of the limelight and especially to those that mask outdoors and in public because they are smart like me.

Smart equals safe in my book so here's a little Jazz, Swing, and Blues festivity from the safety of my little den packed of books, music instruments and a little dog named Scamp that's always happily sleeping in my chair. This music is for those that go the extra mile to safeguard and rid themselves themselves against the perils and pitfalls of todays challenging airborne viruses.

Please wear safety masks for me ...play it safe for yourselves and one another! I can't describe how wonderful it is having safeguarded my health by masking publicly over five years now knowing I can perform my music as free and happy as a bird tonight for you. Nothing is as precious as a light carefree body free of as much human suffering as possible...  Keep on rocking and swaying through the thick and thin my friends at Data Report Info!

Here's my weekend  stay safe  at home/Mask in public Jazz, Swing, & Blues Awareness concert for you:

So my local sheriff once put an end to some horrible after football game party/raves/drunken riots that were occurring at one house on my otherwise very quiet street and so I became friends with sheriff and he is fan of my music and also knows about my masked way of life.. I send him my little online music concerts every holiday because I know the sheriff plays piano in his spare time to relax.

So Sheriff writes me to warn me of the chaos created by upcoming gatherings and festivals:

"Dear Masked Man
Ready for winter?  Lots of beans in the jar.

Take care - don’t forget this weekend is:

• Final “Art in the Park” - Blowing Rock
• AppState Homecoming - ASU vs. Coastal Carolina
• Valle Crucis “Valle Country Fair”
• Wooly Worm Festival
• X series race in Wilkesboro (Speedway)
• Leaf Lookers

Total traffic nightmare/gridlock.

Play that mean guitar and stay in with plenty of snacks and food (cause you and the rest of us are going nowhere)!

Later, my friend.

**n **g**n, Sheriff
W*tauga County, NC"

Masked Man writes back to sheriff:
"The only time I touch a wooly worm is to place it aside  so I can chop wood as seen in this video!

The only time I look at leaves is when I have to pull them outta my gutters! lol

I tell the sheriff to be careful ..I tell him about an N95 mask that has an exhale valve that might be of benefit to him and his team

Then I write him about how I got started on guitar and give him a little classical guitar concert:

"My electric guitar stuff is actually a relatively new endeavor that really only began when the pandemic first broke out around 2020 ..

Originally I started out as a classical guitarist. I love the classical guitar because it sounds good all by itself.. Beethoven called the classical guitar a miniature orchestra.. I dare say if it weren't for the classical guitar women probably wouldn't take me in and support me like they have...lol.. all walks of life tends to love the classical guitar. In the past Ive tested this out and hands down all people tend to love the sound of classical guitar

Let's see if I can still play classical guitar.. I'm rusty but I'll just play through about 12 minutes or so of mistakes"

Let's try to play some classical guitar
Video LINK:

Hope Data Report and company enjoys me fumbling through some classical guitar music,
Best Wishes,
Richard/The Masked Man

P.S. its great to be able to reach out to one another and share friendship and music safely online!

Have to play some electric guitar to celebrate the fact my loved one and I masked and stayed masked during a hospital visit on Friday. It's now Tuesday evening and we feel great and that's a great sign our masks worked because people usually get sick after a few days after exposure to airborne illnesses. We feel great and had a wonderful masked walk today and yesterday!

In tribute to our masks which saves our hides here's some electric guitar I happily played a few minutes ago from the safety of my little home studio that Data Report Info forum can rock to...
Southern Rock in E

Video LINK:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1k-KgeXx-lLKEo7ZgsA3zjsC8V3Ha5XtR/view?usp=sharing

What i did while playing is mix in some double stops or double notes.. that is two notes at once but because I fingerpick I get some stuff pick players often don't play.. my double notes are spaced out further because I pluck with thumb and fingers more than most electric players allowing me to get creative with some harmony here and there along with arpeggio like banjo rolls from time to time ..and double stops sort of like chuck berry does only somewhat fatter sounding..  anyway I am pinching a couple notes trying to improvise with harmony notes with my right fingers a lot... I don't use a pick..

Here's yet another version when improvising

Southern Rock in E Take 2

This is great we wore masks at hospital heard some hospital staff worker coughing their head off down the hallway, we made the nurses that weren't wearing masks wear one,  and our masks must have worked because we aren't sick!,
YES!! Nothing wrong with us ..we wore our masks and we aren't sick! This is great! I live another healthy day to rock out for ya! Keep on Rocking!

Its Saturday night. On Friday, my loved one just returned from a local doctor routine yearly exam/ checkup.
Everything looks good! My loved one and I masked up as usual for this event.
We've been masking publicly since 2020, My loved one is 77 soon to be 78 years old and hasn't had a single airborne illness since 2020.

Nothing spells airborne illness/disease exposure like a visit to the doctor's office and waiting room. Its nasty and stupid. I hear somebody painfully coughing their head off in the waiting room..except for us, everybody is completely maskless in waiting room and receptionists who share writing utensils with undiagnosed patients are exposing themselves. Fortunately our doctor masked for us and I told a nurse or two we preferred them to mask and they did...

...anyway we all know the hypocrisy of maskless healthcare world that takes an oath to protect one another from illnesses.. contagious airborne illnesses... we all know the countless stories about people getting sick from where sick people gather to get diagnosed and treated for various illnesses. The chances of getting exposed to someone with an airborne illness is more than likely in a doctor's office or hospital than most anywhere.

Simply wondering if the very chair you or your loved ones are sitting is was inhabited by a very ill person is terrorizing enough much less listening to their coughing in the waiting room or having to walk through a narrow so-called healthcare hallway with gauntlet of maskless people such as a big bearded delivery guy at the reception window  or to feel the draft of those walk by who have worked hands on with sick people is terrifying to us masked patients seeking a mere doctor checkup. To walk past her old maskless disheveled doctor that had a awkward smile on his ghost -like face in the hallway while in our masks was bizarre and risky. It's no wonder we used a newer doctor that showed more  willingness to mask.  We masked were smarter and safer than them all. It was even weird to see the nurse who just cared for us maskless amongst the maskless in the receptionists area. Very precarious indeed. The maskless are like ghosts..it just feels like the maskless people's days are numbered and eventually, sooner or later, the contagions will whittle them down like long covid has done to this society.

Its not the same as it was when I was growing up as a child nothing rivals the challenges we face today in the present...my habitat my environment is not the same as it was in days of old..new microscopic entities are at play..  Covid and long covid is not finished and has many more victims. Variants still forming still mutating ..covid and its outbreaks simply havent ceased and many airborne illnesses that were almost eradicated have reestablished themselves to our dismay amongst are high speed globe trotting peers and amidst climate change. Even nonhuman animals are affected with these afflictions.. Given these facts and figures I embrace and chose the mask to protect me as it definitely is  a smart day and age not to take chances and definitely smart to mask and chose not to breathe in microscopic entities in this day and age.

I would have expected more for me the Masked Man and a masked 77 year old woman for a mere doctor checkup. I made sure all those who breathed or touched us masked for us but this is shocking the I should have to be their instructor considering the facts and figures available to us all about airborne illnesses including the insidious nature of covid and the reign of long covid.

Anyway my heart goes out to the masked people and masked ones who are my heroes  that have to work or live with people that go maskless in pubic and it's like torture to have to be around anyone who needlessly exposes themselves to viruses given the fact that many virus's carry long term health repercussions that diminish the quality of life for themselves and others later on down the road.

I will celebrate in advance with a little electric guitar music that my loved one and I were masked for the doctor's visit and we probably didn't get  any germs or contract a virus despite obviously a person was having respiratory symptoms in the waiting room and obviously people with covid and other illnesses are asymptomatic for awhile. I am only assuming we are both safe  because we were masked (washed clothes , took off our masks and showered when we got home and had made the doctors and nurses mask before working with us directly). We likely prevented airborne illness that we were needlessly exposed to in the waiting room or from contact with dirty surfaces.

Anyway it would have been a lot more pleasant if everyone took the preventative measures we took as one never knows for sure they haven't gotten an airborne disease from an exposure even though we wore our masks and did our part to protect them.. others didn't even try to protect us...I really resent being exposed to a virus from a bunch of dare I say sick morons coughing and sputtering in a doctor's office that don't have masks on...I really resent the nurse that gives me any signs they might be reluctant to mask for me and my loved one who stand before them already masked... that's sheer terror for me.. it makes sense to be scared of viruses.. and its not fair others don't protect themselves...I certainly don't want to take care of people who don't protect themselves and get sick...  You really have keep that mask snug and secure, carry a lot of disinfectant and defend yourself. It's tough but you can do it!

Time to celebrate the mask that probably saved our life from "Friday's doctor office exposure to illness day"...

Here's some music and here's to those of you that wear a mask to save lives! Keep up the good fight masked crusaders! Those who use and wear the safety mask are my heroes! There's not enough of you!

Let’s play some more while I am at it.. music soothes the savage beast and I hope you find and get wrapped up in your dreams because a lot of crap and hurt is going on in these hard times… I shall call this
Counterpointlike on Margie... I am not familiar with this jazz melody or at least I can't remember how its main melody goes and don't feel like acquainting myself with its main melody so I'll just make something up and term this improvisational stuff of mine Counterpointlike:

I Can’t go out onto that big stage or play or create some unruly gathering .. that’s not my cup of tea in these hard times for the world .. I’d rather ncoyrage others hang back playing from the safety of home online.. I’d rather play for those who are safe and sound in their homes , dens , and rooms .. I’d rather play for you! :)

Here’s an audio mp3 (not a video) of me trying my hand at some

Richard/The Masked Man

P.S. Just a note on this endeavor to stay safe.. It ain't easy! Its not a perfect situation whatsoever... The cats just peed upstairs in the wrong place .. I am far from perfect. I get lazy with other things in my life. I have given up many conveniences. I can't just have people over to help fix things I don't really keep up with all maintenance because of the threat and very real possibility of catching covid or another airborne illness. It can be very traumatic attempting to live free from viruses. I definitely make sacrifices to stay safer and many people probably hate me for that and that's okay. There is fear, anger, frustration, and resentment involved in this gamut naturally.  Ya can't have everything all the time you, he, she, and they want it.. Its definitely not an easy task to stay safe... I definitely respect and commend those who are attempting to try to stay safe.

Well, we are coming up onto the weekend and onto Halloween

Let's face it or not face it by wearing a mask, weekends and holidays often include pressure for people to hold gatherings and risky exposure to contagious illness. If you are like me you'll enjoy staying safe at home celebrating creatively in your own sweet way. Try not to get depressed as holidays bring a lot of people down. Then again I believe it might just be better to live through some depression and just allow it rather than kid ourselves...

...In this day and age I'd say it's often better to endure cabin fever than get a real fever.

A word on depression,
When I get depressed nowadays I just go with it figuring it is healthier to go ahead and live through it rather than try too numb it away with booze, drugs, or anything like partying or socializing in public .. I just play some blues if I have too and leave it that.

Regardless, Seek help if you ever feel like doing yourself in ,are suicidal, or feel like hurting others. For me, the older I get I'd rather just feel the depression and survive it than deny its reality and cover it up with anything. What works for me might not work for everybody, while some depression is considered normal some depression is very bad.  For me the older I get the more I realize that some of my blues are  healthier for me to simply live with than trying all the stuff advertised to beat it with or cover it up with. I didn't feel that way when I was younger but now I feel most the time if I get down it is not the end of the world and its okay for me to simply feel bad and that having bad moods and  depression can be somewhat of a natural thing and is not completely void of merit or usefulness.

For me, Ive felt comfortable riding through depressions and the gamut of moods figuring they make me a more whole person for having experienced them. For me, I simply function better in the long run by allowing myself to  experience depression and a gamut of moods and feelings. For me I consider some anger to be healthy as long as it doesn't hurt anybody and I find certain kinds of depression somewhat healthy and normal and serves some purpose so long as depression doesn't escalate to something totally chronic and severe.

Note of caution: Keep in mind depression is a serious problem for many people and can definitely be dangerous. I'm not advising or telling anybody what to do if they are depressed .. seek a professional consultation by all means .. by the way there are some wonderful Telehealth online solutions available where I once participated online therapy without ever leaving home.

This seeking help for depression is a serious issue because many of us who take rigorous precautions against catching covid and other airborne illness often feel stigmatized by society. We maskers tend to avoid group settings and we tend to isolate ourselves. To me it would be rare to find a therapist who is nearly as rigorous as me insofar as guarding one's health. There aren't a lot of those right now that embrace the masked way of life as I do. There are those of us that believe a pandemic and its repercussions last longer than one year and there of of those of us such as myself that believe in not being the prey of the vicious cycle of new variants and the other airborne illness that are proven to be circulating amongst us.  Not everybody believes or wants to believe in the  microscopic entities that are currently at play according to the wastewater and the scientists microscope.  Therefore to weed out the anti maskers and those ignorant of how bad these viruses really are, I think online therapy and communication is ideal for those such as myself seeking someone to talk to or to seek for therapeutic reasons.

I probably keep my spirits up by doing things like sharing my music from the safety of my own home. This is smart given the risks are different nowadays than they used to be. Protect yourselves  or rather defend yourselves from all the crap that is going down in the world by avoiding conflict, keeping to yourselves, and not catching airborne illness by taking precautions such as masking in public... There's enough problems in the world...
...I know I am personally much better off socializing and sharing things I love remotely online. I love focusing on the music and playing music from my bedroom just as much as anything.

Here I am almost 19 minutes of me jamming out on some guitar jazz for you having the time of my life performing some jazz!
