SUMMARY - Two people are dead and forty-five are known to be infected in an outbreak of the Zika virus in the city of Pune, located in the state of Maharashtra. Eight of those forty-five people infected are new cases announced today (July 28, 2024), of which one is a ten-year old child. It is not known, at this time, how much the Zika virus factored into the two people dying.
