South Korea: MAFRA Detects ASF DNA in Pig Feed Additive as Outbreaks Increase (n=18)

over a month ago (Jan 16th) South Korea reported their first African Swine Fever outbreak of 2026, and since then 17 more outbreaks have been reported across several provinces (Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam).

This is triple what was reported by South Korea in all of 2025, and two weeks ago MAFRA ordered enhanced quarantine and biosecurity measures; with an emphasis on culling, quarantines, and disinfection of people and vehicles leaving farms.
