Mumps - India - 11,000+ cases reported in Kerala
« on: »
SUMMARY - Over 6,000 cases of mumps has been reported in India, primarily in the state of Kerala. Although mumps has a low mortality rate, it can cause other complications, such as pancreatitis & epilepsy. A possible cause for the increase in cases is that mumps is no longer considered a priority to vaccinate against for the public sector health care, instead concentrating on measles.

NOTE - The title has been changed from "Mumps - India - 6,000+ cases reported in Kerala" to better reflect current events.
