Dengue Fever - Bangladesh - Deadliest Year Since 2000
« on: »
SUMMARY - Bangladesh is experiencing the deadliest outbreak of Dengue fever since 2000, recording 293 deaths and 61,500 infections so far this year. Hospitals are struggling to accommodate the number of patients affected by the illness. The illness, which has no vaccine, is transmitted by mosquitoes. The elimination of stagnant water, in which mosquitoes use to breed, is seen as an important step in reducing cases of infections.
