Good idea, I will add to this thread as I find things. Looks like as of yesterday, BNO reported 12 new cases bringing the total to 394 and 3 new deaths bringing the death total to 74.

Seeing a few unsourced claims on Twitter that a sharp escalation has occurred. 416 cases, 135 deaths and the areas affected has risen from 7 to 9.

I'm not seeing any links to media reports on this yet.

We will see if BNO chimes in with anything this evening. If they do and confirm this, then that would be awful news.

The WHO has not released an update. I have a feeling it is going to be a long week with this virus.

SUMMARY - Malaria could likely be a significant cause for what is being described as "Disease X." Malaria has been detected in 10 out of 12 samples that the World Health Organization has analyzed concerning "Disease X." Malaria also fits with the current rainy season and the initial symptoms (fever and headaches). Malnutrition is common in the country and that aspect can make any illness more severe (and even deadly).

Mosquito diseases are scary and evidently,

"The general consensus of demographers is that about 108 billion human beings have ever lived, and that mosquito-borne diseases have killed close to half—52 billion people, the majority of them young children.Jul 10, 2019"

To comment On Malaria ,

My grandfather caught malaria in WW2 and almost died from it(which means I almost didn't exist) and probably had P. malaria because he had malaria health related problems some 30–50 years later , Some varieties of the malaria parasite, which typically cause milder forms of the disease, can persist for years and cause relapses.

Even though Malaria isn't an airborne disease, my grandfather having suffered the long term repercussions from  Malaria is a motivating factor as to why I have been masking to prevent covid which is an airborne disease ever since covid has evolved around 2020. The Long term repercussions from diseases can be worse than even their short term symptoms.

I'm going to take the liberty to share my view here that what is happening in the Congos concerns us all world-wide because like the song says "it is a small world after all".

I dare say here that unlike days of our grandfather's past, we live in a day and age that is so densely populated with such high speed travel and so much transportation and overall interaction betwixt all that it makes for the perfect mutation friendly environment with today's diseases and viruses.

Should a brand new novel virus mutation or disease emerge, there is always the possibility or even likelihood it will not be detectable with the means we have. Hopefully the Personal protective equipment, commonly referred to as "PPE", the  equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries and illnesses such as masks and gloves will protect those that go for us to seek further understanding of these dangerous as of yet undetermined diseases and/or viruses.

I look forward to reading more updates, reports, and views about "Disease X" or the combination of what is evolving from Democratic Republic of Congo from you good members of Data Report Info as they develop.

The Long-winded,
Masked Man
