SUMMARY - African Swine Flu (ASF) has infected the pigs of farms in the country of South Africa. 45 pigs are believed to be died as a result of this current outbreak. This is the 4th such outbreak in South Africa since 2022. ASF is a viral disease that affects domesticated pigs and is usually transmitted to pigs from other pigs or ticks. ASF has a high mortality rate and currently does not affect humans.
