Although I am not a doctor and encourage people to seek their own medical advice from their own trusted medical sources, I'd like to communicate a little caveat to the public in regards to the governor's age:
"Age raises the risk of serious COVID-19
People age 65 and older and babies younger than 6 months have a higher than average risk of serious COVID-19 illness. Those age groups have the highest risk of needing hospital care for COVID-19".
Another warning to the older generation and public:
Older people are typically recommended by medical experts to take extreme caution when they catch covid because they tend to require more medical care. Therefore it is generally not advisable for the older person with covid to exert themselves nor "work remotely from home" as many of our older politicians, representatives and people in authoritative and judicial positions often claim to do.
The governor is 66 and stands to have a higher than average risk of serious COVID-19 illness therefore he also stands to have a higher risk of having long covid.
I will look forward to any updates on this story as I'm always interested to see if the life altering experience of contracting covid and quite possibly long covid influence a governor's (a person with great influence) views or stance on healthcare issues such as masking.
