These people are sick. I don't know who is sicker the teen sports player or the doctor who let him go on.. this is akin to times when referees would allow a dizzy rubber legged disoriented boxer back into the ring to die or at least allow repeated pounding and impact to the brain. A boxer's fall can kill brain cells or 'retards the brain after awhile' for lack of a better word, Here's a practice not many amateurs know about : boxers tie their ankles with braces so that when they get hit hard and pass out their ankles don't collapse and break as they fall but this results in a boxer falling flat on back of head another thing they don't tell you about in the practice of boxing. You tell me: Is it better to have broken ankles to end the fight or slap your head on the back of the mat and suffer brain injuries because they tied your ankles with laces so they won't bend naturally for a fall?
"Joao Fonseca Overcomes Illness to Triumph in Miami Open Despite Nausea Scare" These tennis games are just as brutal with players pushing their luck and pushing past the limits of reason.. this guy is just a teenager just learning to drive a car with his whole life ahead of him.. that's just too much pressure to win...
"the teen sensation had to call for a medical timeout, citing an intense feeling of nausea. His condition was so severe that he asked the umpire for a plastic bag, fearing he might vomit on the court". &"On this unexpected interruption, a medical professional was hastily summoned to the court to examine the visibly unwell and dizzy Fonseca. Following a brief medical intervention, the game resumed"
...We are in the days of the Roman Empire when gladiators killed one another and the crowds cheered and the kings and queens raised their thumbs up or down to determine whether the gladiator should be put to death or live on to fight the next battle in the coliseum.
Here's some old news with comments about the risks these jocks take

talk about pressure to win. These athletes will do anything to win..
..."When a boxer dies, it's usually because of bleeding (bruising) in the brain and swelling of the brain. There are signs that ringside doctors look out for that can tell them of possible bleeding but they are sometimes tough to pick up on. When Leavander Johnson suffered injuries in a fight that led to his death, he was dragging one foot while walking to the dressing room. Oscar Diaz' leg was dragging, and he badly slurred before his collapse. Other times, it's just the boxer doing something out of the ordinary that doesn't look right, like Gerald McClellan's blinking".

P.S.When I see people in sports die or become mentally impaired as time goes by sometimes I can't help but think of that AC/DC song "If you want blood you got it" these sports competitors are pretty much seeing who can bang their head up against the wall over and over the most till they win fame or glory...Just a few tidbits from the internet:
"Whether the impact leads to brain cell loss depends on the amount of physical force that rattles the brain. “If you get hit hard enough, brain cells will die—but there's a lot we don't know about concussions,” says Christian Franck.Sep 19, 2018"
&
"Football players, boxers, or anyone who gets repeated blows to the head can get this condition, which kills brain cells. A single concussion isn't likely to cause it. Symptoms often don't show up for years. At first they include problems with mood, behavior, and impulse control.Mar 27, 2024"
