2024 Summer Olympics
« on: July 17, 2024, 12:57:09 am »
The 2024 Summer Olympics start on Friday, July 26th through Sunday, August 11th in Paris, France. In this thread, we will track all competitors who either won't be competing due to a health issue or have to leave early due to illness/Covid. If the Tour de France was any indication of what could happen, the list could get rather long.

Tadej Pogačar withdraws from Paris 2024 Olympics after winning Tour de France. The reason for his dropping out is that he says "he is too tired". It is worth noting that he did have a case of Covid back in June.

As of Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 at 2:10pm Eastern Standard Time, at least 13 Olympic athletes have tested positive for Covid. This number could be higher, as Belgian never stated exactly how many of their athletes have tested positive for Covid. If you include the number who have withdrawn or are dealing with "illness" not listed as covid, the total number of athletes impacted so far in the Olympics is likely over 20 and quickly growing.
