Rockbridge County Virginia – The Natural Bridge Elementary school will be closed Thursday January 30th RCPS announced in a release Wednesday January 29th.

Back on Wednesday, January 29th In Malden, Missouri, Schools across the FOX 23 area were calling off classes all because of illness.

Chaffee, East Prairie, Scott City, Kelley, New Madrid County, are all school districts that were closed for the remainder of the week.

Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg was forced to suspend in-person classes after an unknown illness sickened hundreds of students and teachers. The school switched to Virtual classes for Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st. Norovirus looks to be the virus that caused this.

Going out of order here but I missed this one on X/BlueSky on Wednesday so I will post it here now before I forget about it.

The Niangua School District announced Wednesday that classes would be canceled on Thursday, February 6, and Friday, February 7, and replaced with AMI days due to sickness affecting students and staff.

Shreveport Lousiana: At least one case of whooping cough has been confirmed at a Caddo Parish school.

In a letter from the Caddo Parish School Board on Jan. 29, they said one student at Youree Drive Middle School contracted the illness.

Back on January 31 Multiple Green Country Oklahoma schools implemented distance learning after an outbreak of sickness.

Eufaula Public Schools.

In Beggs, the school district said schools are closed Friday to allow sick students and staff time to rest over the weekend while schools are deep cleaned.

Essex County, Virgina Public Schools announced that school would be effectively closed on Friday after numerous absence requests due to illness.

In a social post announcement on Thursday night, January 30th, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Cyndee Blount announced that Jan. 31 would be an “asynchronous virtual learning day for all students and staff.”

Blount said that Essex County High School had received 100 student absence requests on Thursday alone.
