SUMMARY - Tuberculosis has broken out at the John B. Connally prison in the state of Texas. Officials say that there have been seven confirmed cases of the disease since October 2023; Advocates and family members of people incarcerated at the maximum-security prison claim that the actual number is much higher. Tuberculosis cases tend to be higher in all prisons due to the cramped conditions, with humidity also playing a factor.
