NOTE:
..incase nobody has noticed, so far its almost always the 'raw' stuff involved that seems to make people sick the most often as well as the 'raw' stuff in pet food. There's other botulisms, poisonings, and food items that make people sick but in many cases the uncooked 'raw' items seem to be the most liable items to cause problems!

At least it seems to me that certain raw food poses significant health risks to both pets and humans due to potential contamination with harmful bacteria like Salmonella, Listeria, and E. coli.

Even though lots of people have done it, I know I was always told as a kid that it's not very smart to eat raw eggs or even a hot dog without cooking it first.

I'm going to editorialize for a moment. My apologies; I've also had a rough day at work and so some venting is necessary.

Raw milk is not safe. Period. Just like you could chew on shards of broken glass and not be seriously injured and/or die, consuming raw dairy is a Bad IdeaTM no matter the mental gymnastics that you perform in order to convince yourselves otherwise. The problem now is that the consumption of raw dairy has become a form of virtue-signalling for conservatives / Republicans / Donald Trump supporters as it is seen as a 'protest' against 'science' and 'government oppression.'

Something that is often overlooked is that the consumption of raw dairy is selfish from a public health perspective; Because you knowingly consumed it and became sick, you are depriving a hospital bed and medical resources to someone else who needed those resources more. If you die because of that consumption, you are now depriving everyone of a family member, a friend, a neighbor, an employee, and so on.

It is one thing to consume something without knowing the risks; We perform that activity all of the time. The scientific method can't determine all of the risks until enough people perform an action repeatedly and we see patterns in those people that can determine if there is a potential hazard. We can get as close as we reasonably and economically can with a properly-conducted Phase III trial but the real test is when people en masse are performing that activity.

We know that raw dairy is bad for us. Full stop. End of discussion. The verdict is in, has been accepted by the judge and the judge has ordered the jury dismissed.

The only reason why it still exists on any significant level is because of faulty behavioral and political logic that endangers public health and safety.

And here's a link about "RAW FARM" that illustrates that this isn't their first rodeo when it comes to needing their products recalled for contamination:

You know its bad when legislation has to step in and make it illegal... There is reason why  "Raw milk sales for human consumption are prohibited in roughly 20 states"

Ive lived on dairy farms and poultry farms. Wash your hands, wash your dishes, and cook your food at proper temperature! These people don't know what raw is... kill germs and bacteria with heat and cooking and do it right!

People should already know it is very very unsafe not to cook things properly... only at certain temperatures will germs & bacteria die. Its also why we wash objects  like plates and forks we eat off. Its the same thing.. you can't wash the germs out of the food so you have to cook it to kill the germs with heat. We use microscopes  to see  things are too small with our eyes .. these are tools we use to educate ourselves about things. This is called education and we humans learn to use microscope to prove the existence and to further our understanding germs and bacteria. That being said in the past most of society realized they need to cook food by fire because they would often get sick when they didn't. I don't know why people are getting dumber. We tend to sterilize things with fire, heat or antiseptics .. hypodermic  needles.. we use something called cooking thermometers to check temperature of meat as we cook it...

...I don't know why certain groups of people would deny the existence of germs and bacteria. I guess uneducated, unsanitary, people are simply in fantasy land and  skipping certain steps and trying to save time and money somehow  by not cooking or using heat to clean the food thinking they can defy reasoning and consume nasty stuff that can breed bacteria and botulism?

My theory is as follows: I guess they think they are on little house on the prairie and  are drinking milk straight from the utter right away before it is exposed to oxygen and osmosis. They think they are in a perfect world... That's what they think they are doing but they aren't drinking it straight from their perfectly healthy clean cow's utter. In theory if you drink it right away straight from the utter it might be okay if the cow is perfectly healthy  but the reality is that raw milk is going to be stored and sitting around for quite some time exposed to environments that are bacteria friendly. Raw stuff ceases to be raw once microscopic organisms set in and start partaking, multiplying and thriving on it! If you are going to eat something raw you got eat it right away el pronto straight from the utter! Raw stuff doesn't keep well for very long whatsoever.. microorganisms race in to to feed, breed, and multiply on it! You can't stick something raw in a piece of plastic for a few days, ship it out on a truck, put it on the shelves for people to buy  and think its going to be good to eat later. If you are going to take chances consuming something raw I think your best bet is drinking or eating it before it gets exposed to oxygen and the elements ..ya gotta drink it straight from the teat right away!.. and even so you still might want to boil or cook it or sterilize be wary of contaminated surfaces, utensils, and tools  and use a pasteurization process... there are weird diseases and infections and bacteria you can get from eating after other animals without cleaning and cooking! The chances of some bats hanging upside down  in the rafters or a barn cat tiptoeing through the hay and straw are pretty high..that's a lot of old crusty milk droplets and they all drink from the same trough...  there's going to be a mouse in that barn and some feces. That's reality. That's the reality behind where the 'raw' comes from. It's not like some picturesque scene in the movies.. feather dust and tai's slapping at flies and animals snorting and blowing snot out of their snouts constantly  is typical Ive lived next to farms and its definitely not sterile  area fit for surgery or anything like that. You can smell a dairy farmer's boots from a mile away!

Part of the reason I wear a mask is because such people exist..people who don't understand how dangerous they are to themselves and others out of sheer stupidity. They don't understand simple concepts about germs and how to cook things properly. I don't like eating the same uncooked food, breathing the same air, or being in the same room or car as people like that.

People who don't understand that certain temperatures are required to kill germs and bacteria in food certainly are also less likely understand or accept other concepts as well such as how viruses get transmitted. One has to protect themselves not only from germs but also certain people as well. That's all there is to it. I got neighbors like that. I don't mingle with them because I know what it will get me. Stray roosters, stray dogs, they burn brush on the windy days and they always wanna shake hands..They can go play patty cake or footsie with someone else! They will never learn... I don't shake hands! I don't make deals ..I don't Fraternize ..I don't party or play with them ..I don't need the attention and I am already pleased with my lot in life and am a busy man...They can learn to read and write and use technology to communicate their ideas and needs if they want to.. my presence is not needed... I keep to myself and I wear a mask and my loved one and I are good relative health. I try to stay totally independent... because I am happy as I am.
