Are Masks (slightly) Making a Comeback? Maybe...
« on: June 15, 2025, 01:55:53 pm »
I routinely go to a flea market every weekend and, at the latest one, was mildly surprised (and happy) to see that more than five people (besides myself, of course) were wearing masks! Granted, I always know of one or two that will wear masks but seeing so many other people (I'd say it was 6-8 people although I could have double-counted a person or two and that's why I wrote "more than five") wear masks really gave me hope. One other person even wore an N95 mask.

Anyway, I just wanted to write that there is still a small contingent of us still wearing masks (for good reason!) and, maybe, our numbers are growing...

I would venture to state its quite possible, if not likely you inspired others to mask because of your routine flea market visitations in your mask.

More than likely others saw you wearing a mask and they probably said to themselves:" look at that smart fellow in a mask! nothing bad is happening to him..I always wanted to wear mine ..now I see this individual wearing his mask with confidence and it seems normal so I'm wearing my mask too!".

While I'm sure there are other motivating factors for wearing masks, when one person masks it simply makes others more comfortable to come out and mask as well. That's the way these things work. I'm going to give you credit for inspiring others to mask..people learn by example and you are a good one! If you don't mind me saying Excellent work Steve! You definitely inspire me and I believe you inspired others to mask! You show integrity and strengthen others by your simple act of masking in public no doubt in my mind. :)

P.S.
Recently I had to visit doctor's with loved one for paperwork and for once there were more of us masking than those that weren't(those that weren't masked really looked weak, meek and timid and even guilty to my eye) and it felt really good, normal, and I safer for this Masked Man to be around other masked individuals!

My loved one and I are probably going for a little walk today and we of course are wearing our masks as usual for that. :)
