Happy 'Earth Day' everybody...

"Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Founded in 1970 by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson to increase awareness of environmental issues, it is now a global event spanning over 180 countries. The 2026 theme is "Our Power," focusing on climate action through individual actions like cleanups and advocacy."

I honor  and celebrate 'Earth Day'  by using the bicycle as my main mode of transportation...I have always been into bicycles so as usual I ride my bicycle every week to pick up our box of fresh farmers Market vegetables from the Local Women's Agricultural Center. I have been wearing respirator style mask/n95 mask for my health and safety during my bicycling adventures with much success

I'm sure each of you honor the earth earth in your own special way or fashion...

I'm not real keen on big gatherings and herds of people getting together in each others faces to celebrate stuff so let's celebrate earth day in our own way.. what better way than to celebrate by cranking up an electric guitar and just jamming from my bedroom for ya eh!? ;)

& P.S. again, I also use a self propelled mower and let pretty dandelions grow and flourish!

When I was a kid, I carried newspapers on my back and chest and delivered newspapers door to door seven days a week after school int the heat, rain, sleet, and snow for something like three years straight... so nowadays riding a bicycle in my mask with a box of vegetables on my back is like nothing for me but fun.

Update: I really had a great experience on my masked bicycle trip to Women's Agricultural Center and back. I've made this trip and milage in my mask so many times that I just felt safe and smart the whole time ..because I was on a mission and this is routine for me I had inner confidence and inner pride about being masked. I just felt good about myself. Maybe my confidence will rub off on others and they will believe in themselves and more maskers will evolve in my little town. It might be that some of the onlookers actually have respect for my masking ...

...I sensed respect from those I rode by on my bicycle & at the Women's Agricultural Center. I just sort of got vibes on my trip and sensed that the others respected me as I pedaled by in my mask and I felt like I had self respect and carried myself that way on my errand in my mask. Not that it matters because I'm wearing my mask no matter what but it is a bonus to at least feel 'respected' and somewhat accepted.

I felt real natural in my mask today. Of course I prefer the company of other maskers and I am still going to keep my social distance from others.. but inso far as a 'pickup' order from a very industries friendly group goes  like the Women's Agricultural Center or on the road bicycling I felt quite respected and it felt quite natural to be masked with the somewhat close encounters I had with people today. I felt like I displayed my normal good cheer and attitude about how beautiful a day it is around the few close encounters that I did have with others in public today. The mask certainly did not deter me from being an awesome person! ;)
