Couple more  pet peeves…

Why does American news act like everything will be okay when it’s not okay?

Curiously enough I find some news from India or Australia seem to take certain issues such as covid more serious when they report than The typical American newscaster does.

Why isn’t covid always in the local news considering it’s constant impact on society?

Personally I am at odds with how media reports covid issues .. covid is an ongoing that simply requires ongoing daily attention which is one of the reasons why I follow the Data presented to me by Data Report.. Data Report’s data should be a feature of daily local news everyday just like the weatherreport is. My pet peeve being the local news is always seeking a new story while it should be focused on covid everyday.

Oh another pet peeve is the omission of stuff like : long covid… long covid is not mentioned as often as should be amongst the symptoms… not n local news channels I’ve been watching. It’s like long covid is a bad word or something.

Oh seen so many crazy ones:

A maskless reporter standing next to a bunch of cows in the middle of avian flu scare saying"these cows may have avian flu right now for all I know".

There's a woman who lost both legs to covid complications receiving new artificial set of legs then running in competitions again with no mask amongst the very same peers that probably gave her covid I mean c'mon even after losing both legs not wearing a mask risking covid again... that's nuts!

There's acountless stupid behavior ..one guy loses his daughter to covid and is just sitting there totally unmasked with unmasked reporters ..I mean its just crazy someone dies in his family because they didn't mask up and then the just sit around crying about the horrible hideous loss and they still don't mask up for the next variant amongst them while they are on tv publicizing their masklessness.

Then I think of the wonderful MASK again , All I could of think of was if only they had heard my voice and taken my advice about wearing the mask.. I could have saved that girls legs or kept that guy's daughter from having died from Covid "the breath it in and die disease" as should have been said in her case. But woe is me I can't can't go back in time and make them wear the mask for me and for their own goods...

but enough about their goods..

here's the good news for all you MASKER's out there:CONGRATULATIONS to all N95 mask wearers! Scientifically it has been proven that You n 95 mask wearers have not only prevented yourselves from contracting covid(like 99.99% success rate), you have also not spread the disease to others (like 10 -15 other contacts average) therefore preventing a colossal amount of covid infections and even  covid deaths! Excellent work my masked friends! Ye masked  have prevented more covid infections and deaths than maskless have with any other measures taken besides isolation and quarantining measures. Thank you!!!,

Feels good to preach  to the choir and know someone else respects the nature of this beast called the new emerging variant…

I look through a picture book of 1917 about the spanish flu and I look at all people pictures in the book and I say all the maskless people are idiots.. the masked nurses have a chance and the occasional masked farmer and a masked horse might survive most comfortable in the 1917 Spanish influenza book .. then I look at the people on 2020 pandemic and think thank God for my mask I feel safer in it ! The Spanish flu killed more people than a couple wars put together just to make the point of the destruction  these tiny microscopic entities today are capable of  (only seen through an electron microscope).

…Yet another  pet peeve of mine which should be called a monster peeve are politicians that don’t even follow the data or news. On one channel we got the biggest summer surge on the globe , school has just gotten started and on the other channel my choice of smiling politicians… it’s hard to see these  penguins super spreading.  When I See maskless politicians at super spreading events it’s like in the movies where the driver is not staring straight ahead at the road while talking and eyeballing the passenger… I can’t hear a word they are saying as these maskless people dont  have their eye on the ball. What happens when I watch the maskless people I’d All I can see is that face is going to make that other face sick and that one is standing awfully close to that one .. in my mind I can just see the invisible germs in the air at these political events…
For me . Reality is my significant others online friend just lost a friend to covid (just last night)in Nebraska and that person died within 24 hours of having covid.. then my significant others cousin died from covid having gotten it in the hospital.. that’s close enough for me .. I’m not breathing what they breathed in!

.. I live with the reality there’s a good chance my mother and father who probably don’t mask are next to die for real  .. not too mention covid’s numbers and a vicious variant may prove fatal for all we know..
I can’t connect to the maskless.  I don’t understand why the maskless can’t fathom or envision the invisible germs like I can and I don’t understand their lack of fear and respect of disease. I simply am at odds with the maskless.. I don’t understand their strategy of survival. My guess is that the multitude of maskless simply have not experienced chronic disease in their lives before therefore are simply ignorant and unable to respond to fear or stimuli that can not just kill but also maim and basically make the maskless body so itchy and intolerable to live in .. My pet peeve being: aren’t they scared? Number one goals in life Fear or gravitate away from things that kill .. Death is pretty top of line when it comes to things to avoid.. number two to avoid: provably pain like disease and injury  .. unless your a masochist we typically hate pain and suffering especially prolonged suffering like diseases often carry. As for numbers 3 and 4 things to avoid: probably meaningless if one is in pain and misery and sick … It’s suicide to go maskless… I certainly expect more of people to protect themselves..
I for one , live in a reality that long covid exists and that diseases are unpleasant torture like being a prisoner of ones own body! Lol …my message to political candidates  who may be  driving through a pandemic.. I don’t vote for maskless mortals so stop smiling like a sleaze bag for the camera if you drove by house.. this ain’t no vacation friends of mine dying overnight with covid .. put a mask over that silly grin .. this is Hell ..we are in a pandemic!  people are still getting sick!

If only if we could trace (like we do in genealogy) who is making who sick and finally hold those responsible accountable for their fault.. or at least give compensation for all the medical bills… that’s why I mask .. I don’t let people get me sick… and I don’t get people sick.. that’s my strategy: this old boy masks up! I’ve seen too many sickos falling to  bended  knee and..
…the sick all have one thing in common: they were all maskless!
and they are sick for real… 

Ah another pet peeve: politicians who get sick then say they are going to “work remotely or from home” .. c’mon! I don’t trust a sick guy or woman to make decisions for me or the public if they are sick! Sick people are not of sound mind! If anything politicians should be working from home isolating themselves so they are able to stay healthy and work from home or their office instead of drawing a crowd during pandemic.. Every election time never fails to become a super spreader for the past four years. Again if your sick don’t work, it’s dangerous and the sick will make mistakes.

Okay big pet peeve for the tiny five minute typical local news channel reports is the impression I get is the myth: 'people don’t have to worry about covid if they are not  older'… this is hogwash .. c’mon you got you’re whole life ahead of you young people ! Don’t play with long covid! as we all must take responsibility for this disease besides there is long covid and if I’m not mistaken long covid can affect people who survived so called mild cases of covid .. I mean who wants living with long term repercussions and symptoms regardless of your age? And who wants everybody around them to be sick even if one personally survives covid.. nobody wants to infect numerous people down the line? Again it’s that new variant we want to avoid making (wear a mask to actually prevent infection and spread !)
My pet peeve being in many local area news channels) is a pet peeve of ommision..the omission of 'long covid' in the local news... long covid isn’t listed amongst the typical symptoms or feared enough..and young people should fear Long covid as well as old people … I don’t like taking chances  with prolonged suffering regardless of my age!

That whole ‘don’t worry about covid if your not older’ idea is really dumb given there have been four and a half years straight of covid and all these mutations are not necessarily getting less dangerous…
The possibility is that young people or any people for that matter who survive the so called mild symptoms only became instrumental in developing  long covid and could inadvertently develop the next variant that could very well prove a greater mortality rate or simply greater success rate for virus!

I’m scared of covid. Particularly long covid especially the long term health repercussions that in particular may be experienced by those  that catch bout after bout of covid... we don't know and can't know yet what long term repercussions may be in store for those that catch covid even once may occur later on down the road..It doesn’t sound good. I would feel a lot better if I saw people around me masking up real good.. I just can’t stand maskless people no matter how hard I try. There is evidence proper mask wearing  helps tremendously and since it’s a no brainer kind of noninvasive procedure a great tool to prevent airborne diseases I can’t help but encourage mask usage. Masks don’t wane variant to variant and one isn’t altering their body with any drugs or anything .. if you use filters to protect your car engines from debris I definitely recommend same protection for your body namely;  filter out dangerous particles with a mask.

I was recently reminded of this phrase that you see (and hear) frequently in obituaries of one type or another:

"A brief illness."

More and more, I feel that this is the 'go-to' phrase when someone dies of Covid-19 but whomever is in charge of the obituary or news story does not want to report that detail (for one motivated reason or another).

I am old enough to remember when AIDS was dominant in the news and people (both ordinary and prominent) were dying from it quite frequently. For the record, AIDS is still a menace to our society and, despite advances in medicine, is still causing great calamity wherever it strikes.

When someone died of AIDS but their family did not want to advertise that fact (because, especially in the beginning of that pandemic, it was also a de facto admission of the person being homosexual), they would say that the person died because of "heart failure" or "a heart condition." And the snarky response was always, "Well, yes - When your heart stops beating, you die. But HOW did the heart stop beating?" One famous example that comes to mind was the entertainer Liberace.

Granted in both cases (heart condition & brief illness), there are always several legitimate reasons to use both phrases that don't amount to any nefarious purposes. However, "a brief illness" is right up there with "heart failure / a heart condition" and "exhaustion" (I remember when "Lyme disease" was briefly popular in the entertainment industry as an euphemism for recovering from drug and/or alcohol addiction, as in "they're recovering from a bout of Lyme disease.")

I have no doubt that, as the years go by, loose tongues will eventually reveal (especially for the prominent personalities) how many of these "brief illnesses" were connected to Covid-19. 

Time for more pet peeves... I call this next feature."Moreonic News!" This kind of news drives me crazy… I just can’t stand it; A hospital getting news coverage complaining about how they are over crowded .. they complain about the flu, covid and airborne diseases and how overwhelmed they are and basically almost every single patient and doctor and nurse is maskless and more than likely the elderly couple (one of which had pneumonia) and the newscaster  featured on the news is likely to contract covid at the hospital.. this news is maddening to me and makes me think the hospital’s lack of masks and precautions only make the problem worse .. I have seen so much footage like this that makes me fear hospitals like I fear the plague and believe hospitals to be super spreader events where new variants are formed…

Oh I just can’t stand Maskless newscasters interviewing maskless doctors visiting one another smiling for the camera to publicize their strife at super-spreader event held at a hospital! It’s demented. It’s sickening.

I mean what is this!? am I watching "Saturday Night Live"!? Are these people for real!?We are talking staff infections..no not staph infection..I mean infections from the staff.. they got a maskless  reporter roaming the hall with a maskless doctor for crying out loud its an unnecessary risk!  Hospitals complaining about germs and being crowded while sporting pneumonia inviting the prime minister to visit the wretched conditions they are in? People complaining about how crowded their hospital is and about how the vomiting is piling on pressure for them while nobody wears masks for airborne diseases? They must be on drugs.. it's crazy to not protect against germs at a hospital... This is what I call "Moreonic news"...  If someone is throwing up around you, put on a mask... that's just common sense to not breathe in an undetermined disease in an enclosed area ! lol Its gross and should be gross.. vomit and diseases should scare people enough to wear masks.

It just doesn't make sense not to be wary of someone who is suffering and gagging and stuff is coming out of their faces like coughing and vomit. It seems to me that normal people would be afraid of suffering from whatever the sufferer has got. I question the sanity of a person that thinks its okay to breathe in the air around that many people that are sick and crowded at a hospital. How is the behavior of these maskless doctors and maskless nurses different than some guy sniffing on a sick or dead animal on the side of the road?

Oh and while all these Californians are coming down with bird flu, then there’s this crazy news where the newscaster actually erroneously says bird flu is "not harmful to humans"

Of course I will spare you the countless photos in the news of maskless farmers gloveless with no goggles proudly standing next to their livestock while scores and scores of chickens have been prematurely beheaded due to bird flu which is no doubt a pandemic for the birds...  also don't get me started on the maskless newscasters who are always talking covid interviewing maskless doctors face to face in the studio during flu season to discuss the dangers of being in public gatherings together this Xmas season..or the maskless news reporters who stands next to cattle that might have bird flu or maskless newscaster reporting there are viruses in wastewater treatment plants .. while it is true there are viruses in the wastewater, must they report it maskless amidst that runny pit that emits such smelly bile?

Everybody is masked playing it smart and then a big shot hollers "grab a little stranger girl and hold her up above the war torn streets (sort of like Michael Jackson holding a child over the balcony for the world to see) yeah that's it pull your mask under your chin and risk a virus right in the middle of a pandemic and hold a little unmasked girl close to your face for a photo op..say cheese!".

Is it wise to breathe in the face of a little Ukrainian girl right in the middle of a pandemic when many school children teachers and school bus drivers in America were masked while covid is raging!?

P.S. Seriously too many people treat the pandemic like a joke. I wear a mask and I take it seriously. I take care of myself and I take care of my immunocompromised loved one. I work hard very hard to not catch covid and other diseases and I respect diseases for what they are and expect doctors and nurses and people who work closely with the public to  take these matters of concern seriously and to create safe areas rather than spread diseases during their gatherings. Do and think as you will, but personally I don't think that was right for that guy or any guy pulling down his mask like that. It put the little girl and therefore her family at risk. It just didn't make any sense a whole lot of guys all masked up but just one guy exposing a little girl to a virus..It just ain't right in the head. Its nothing political as I may have voted democrat(although that's nobody's business). I just can't tolerate endangering a child's life for a photo...It's exploitation and It's just not protective or acceptable behavior during a time when American schoolchildren are masking and people are being mandated to take vaccines or lose their jobs. That is not how to protect a child. A protector wears their mask during these times of covid out of common sense and decency towards others especially little foreign girls. That's what they did in the Spanish flu that killed more people than four major wars combined..the pandemic of 1917.. a bunch of soldiers basically helped spread a disease all over the world haphazardly killing more people with disease than with their guns... At least have the decency to wear to wear a safety mask during military expeditions when ya hop off a packed jet in a dirty suit full of men in black to hug little girls in a foreign land for your photo op and try not to make others sick while playing the hero.

Its now getting closer to Christmas be careful Santa doesn't bring us a new variant or something while currently the XEC variant just took the lead of the sleigh of mutations.

Did you all read that.. I'm gonna tell you what is wrong here..
This is big no no to me.. people pretending to work and 'do a good job' while sick; it is stated he "is able to work remotely with mild symptoms"...
.. PLEASE Governor! don't do anything when you are suffering from symptoms of covid or are sick!

I must agree -- If you are sick with Covid, the only activity that you should be performing is getting rest and recovering.

Granted, I understand that there are some caveats to that assessment.

First, there may be legal reasons for the word salad. In many cases, if a politician is incapacitated, there are legally-binding steps that often occur to compensate for that incapacitation (ex. A Vice-President being sworn in to replace a president). I know that, in some states, the lieutenant governor is often chosen separately from the governor and can have drastically different agendas than the governor.

Second, there may be political reasons. Politicians want to get re-elected and all males (and especially male politicians) are sensitive in having their virility challenged. In the minds of many, you are not a 'strong' leader if you do not portray physical health. The Soviet leader Stalin took that name because it meant "strength." A later Russian president, Vladimir Putin, bent frying pans (of questionable integrity) in a show of physical strength. Politicians of a strongman mindset can not show any sort of weakness because that is part of their trade.

It would have been preferable if there had been clarity. What are the "mild symptoms"? Is it brain fog? Is it slugishness?

Perhaps a better statement from them would have been, "The governor has tested positive for Covid. He has symptoms that are not intense enough to interfere with his capacity to govern the state remotely. He is being monitored by health professionals who will continually ascertain if he may continue to govern at a sufficient level. The lieutenant governor has been informed of the situation and a plan is already in place should the lieutenant governor need to step in briefly for the governor. At this time, no modification to state leadership is needed. The governor wishes to stress that anyone who is afflicted with Covid should isolate themselves appropriately and seek proper medical treatment until such time that they may return back into society responsibly."

I think already posted this but it just my absolute favorite pet peeve..I mean what's the use of everybody masking but one guy holding a little stranger girl face to face in the war torn streets for a picture!? This is sheer lunacy to pull the mask down at the absolutely worse moment like right when one gets into the face of a stranger.. its crazy:

.. like duh! I don't even have to ask myself why people keep getting covid I just look at link above.
To me its just so simple don't hug children you don't know in public, keep the mask on, wash hands and maybe a take shower upon entering your own premise and hug your own children and loved ones in the privacy of your own home without mask after you are clean.
Take precautions like masking when out in public and don't act like our politicians no matter what age ya are even though I am not a doctor..lol. It's never right to treat highly contagious diseases that cause long term repercussions for the individual as well as those they infect as merely a flesh wound to brush off.

Even though I'm not a doctor, I don't even think doctors are telling us to do enough to prevent long covid. Ive never been afraid of surviving covid's short term symptoms to be honest I mask for the fear of having to live with the day in day out grind of some long term health repercussion down the road from that little covid infection. Short term pain is horrible but long term pain is for lack of a better word Hell.

It interesting to revisit the not so long ago past like when everybody started getting sick at the Gridiron Club (ya read stuff like "people who are vaccinated are almost three times less likely to be infected compared with those who are unvaccinated" which is not true now nor was true when they wrote it.

... all sorts of big shots got sick at that Vaccinated only Gridiron club dinner First news story a lot different than the second news story revealing that the first news story was bogus medically speaking. They didn't get wear their masks and Fauci observed and there was an outbreak that's all anybody can really prove. That was a catastrophe. I was sitting at home watching it and I knew it was going to happen. That's why I wear a mask partly from them proving what didn't work. Also they never follow up and trace or tell you how many others really got sick... there's probably at least as many people or twice as many no-named staff serving these penguins at the clubhouse.

Now I do commend politicians that come forward to tell us they have covid. I am not sure they are legally required to be so forthright as they are and that would be scarier by far wondering how many public figures simply don't tell us when they get sick and are ashamed to tell anybody. Imagine those that keep getting covid and simply don't report it. It must be far worse and less talked about in the general public ..that's scary ..its so sad people not even knowing they got it giving it to their loved one.. I wear a mask and the maskless pass by all the time. They scare me and I'm scared for them. I'm worried a lot of people are going to die of covid /bird flu and slew of other diseases eating away at them til they disappear..its hard. I try not to connect to many people because they never mask. I got my mask on and I'm staying sharp ..I'm going to be a survivor. Maybe people think I'm overboard but Ive adapted and am living the masked life and doing good. Its kind of lonely but I'm in good shape and famous people and important people keep getting cut down by covid little by little .. the masked people lose a lot of friends...its a hard life but a good one in the mask for me. Its easier for me than being part of the maskless life. Its better to be safe than sorry and keep it that way. Masking is well worth it for me, If I wanna connect with loved ones I can write. Never let anything get you down.. I Don't let anything get me down even the news

Ladies and germs, I'm a musician butI don't put on any airs  out in public with some yakety yaks running for office ...why bother going out when I can stay in and rock out!  my bedroom is the best place to rock when I dress up..lol..I tell ya I know how to live it up! I actually don't think "isolation" is bad..I'm the artist musician type and I actually do better apart from the herd and masses. I happen to believe the written and typed word can be more effective than just a bunch of talk in public. I truly believe all sorts people can do a lot from the safety of their homes! I believe in society reforming itself so people can stay and work from home more. Why work remotely from home while sick when one might be able to work remotely from home while healthy!?

That Masked Man

Something that I tend not to like is when the media dismisses a Covid-19 or HPAI death because the victim was either older and/or "had co-morbidities" (such as other illnesses).

I just find that tactic very distasteful.

First and foremost, I'm not comfortable with the media always emphasizing a person's age or medical status to dismiss these very serious ailments. Are they technically correct by identifying these factors? If a person was indeed older and/or had other medical conditions, then I suppose that they are. However, they have no idea if this person would have lived if they were younger, didn't have these other medical conditions or if the medical conditions were of a lesser severity.

It is a very slippery slope when the media starts dismissing the deaths or misfortunes of people merely due to age or prior medical status. What's next? Are they going to report on a rape but "the woman was very attractive and scantily-clad"? Are they going to report a car theft but the car was in "the wrong part of town"?

As the saying goes, "There's a funny thing about ageism - It never gets old."
