Library Book Sale - Most Volunteers Wore Masks!
« on: September 07, 2024, 02:45:22 pm »
I went today to a library book sale and was wonderfully surprised that most of the volunteers wore masks! While I was one of the few patrons who wore a mask, I have to be honest in that I was thrilled to see so many people wearing masks. It is probably the most people in one area and for one instance all wearing masks that I have seen in quite a while.

This just goes to show that people are listening and they are responding to the notion that Covid is not over and that the only way to truly minimize Covid (for themselves and for others) is to perform these types of precautionary measures and to perform them consistently.

EXCELLENT! Now that inspires me truly! Masks and reading...there is intelligent life form out there ..just when I thought I was the only smart one wearing a mask! Thank you for posting that as its easy for me to feel totally alone in masking. I am lover of books as well! I especially love The great Books of From Homer, Plato, Aristotle, etc. It's a relief to simply know a group of people are masking out there and that I actually have something in common with them! You made my day (actually you made my week!) and give me hope for the future that I can fit in somewhere!
 :) :) :)
Bless your hearts,

This thread has 1303 views! I just think that is the coolest thing considering it is simply about masking at a book sale.

What strikes me most is that this thread rivals many other threads in terms of views it has gotten. There must be something special about it. Its gotten as many if not more views than most any other serious topic here.

Steve hit on something really good when he posted this thread. Something obviously attracted people to this thread.. I guess it is love of learning and reading! Quite a beautiful number of views! It's inspiring. :)

Germ theory is real and we need to be mindful that Covid-19, HPAI & other communicable diseases are not going away simply because 'the popular people' are no longer wearing masks.

I understand how persuasive "online influencers" may be but no amount of popularity can alter the laws of reality. These viruses are still spreading, still mutating & still causing people to get sick (some seriously) or even die.

If our society is not going to keep up with their vaccinations, then our society should not be surprised when individuals from that society performs additional protective measures in an effort to avoid these harmful infections such as wearing masks in public.

I certainly hope that there is a day when science is advanced enough (and our social attitudes are advanced enough) for when masking is no longer a necessity; That day, unfortunately, has not arrived. Hopefully, it arrives before the next pandemic may occur.
