SUMMARY - The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a report stating that, for the year 2024, 59 million lives were saved from measles because of vaccination campaigns since the year 2000. 95,000 people, mostly children under the age of 5, died from the disease in 2024. Worldwide infections surged to nearly 11 million which is 8 million more than from pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
