Belize records first Measles cases in 34 years. They have reported 2 cases of Measles.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) has confirmed five new cases of measles in Belize, all originating from the Cayo District. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to seven, following two imported cases detected on April 12th.

Ontario reports 223 new measles cases in the last week. This takes their total to 1,242 cases so far this year which is very concerning.

With 16 new measles cases reported in Alberta on Thursday, the province's number of confirmed cases has surged past the 300 mark and currently sits at 313.

SUMMARY - The nation of Morocco is currently experiencing the worst outbreak of measles in recent years although data suggests that the peak of the latest outbreak was in late January 2025. The strain of measles infecting Morocco is type B3 (which is common on the continent of Africa) with one isolated case of type D8 (indicating an infection from a foreign source).
