Long covid patients are having issues trying to claim disability insurance. Source for this story is CNBC. I would think having a positive covid case on file is big in this case. Many who first had covid in 2020 do not have a covid positive case on their record.

Long Covid patients can face a battle trying to claim benefits through their workplace disability insurance
Given some of the subjective symptoms of long Covid, there's no guarantee that a claim filed for short- or long-term disability insurance will be approved.
