Author Topic: Does a Form of Vitamin B3 help alleviate Long Covid symptoms? It's Complicated...  (Read 973 times)

SUMMARY - Nicotinamide riboside (NR), a form of vitamin B3, may help alleviate some effects from Long Covid, such as fatigue, sleep & depression, according to an analysis of a study conducted by Mass General Brigham.

NOTE - I hesitated to include this study to the forum because even the article notes some potential 'red flags' in the results. For starters, the study size was small and there were several drop-outs. The initial results were inconclusive and the 'beneficial' results were only realized when a further analysis of the data was performed (sometimes referred to as 'moving the goal posts'). Finally, the study used self-reporting (when a patient tells the researchers information instead of the researching obtaining that information themselves) which can be subjective.

However, I have included it here ONLY because people who have Long Covid deserve to have as much information as they would prefer in order to make informed medical choices with their primary care physicians.
