Exhaled Breath Carries Disease-associated Bacteria from Gut
Jan 22, 2026 | Diagnostics, Other Infections
Chemicals released by gut microbes and captured from the breath can reveal the composition of the bacteria living in the intestines.

SUMMARY:
"RT’s Three Key Takeaways:
Breath-based microbiome detection: Researchers showed that volatile compounds in exhaled breath can reliably reflect the composition of gut bacteria in children and mice.
Disease prediction potential: Breath analysis accurately predicted the presence of asthma-associated bacteria, such as Eubacterium siraeum, highlighting its potential for early disease monitoring.
Noninvasive diagnostic promise: This approach could enable rapid, simple, and noninvasive testing of gut health, improving early diagnosis and management of microbiome-related conditions."

We live in a country where our highest ranking medical official thinks that Vitamin A either cures or treats measles.

As I have expressed before, it is very disturbing that our experiences with Covid-19 has not compelled hospital networks to have medical personnel wear N95 masks throughout the traditional flu season. That adaptation would have been the very least amount of effort in order to curb the traditionally contagious diseases, nevermind Covid.

It does not make sense to institute masking requirements *AFTER* infectious diseases are significantly affecting your community but *BEFORE* they do so. We know that influenza and "the cold" are seasonal; Why not anticipate the increased amount of infections by having masking requirements instituted before they occur? Curbing Covid-19 infections would only be an added benefit to that policy.

We are fortunate that, for this winter so far, the level of Covid infections and deaths have been lower than normal. However, influenza spiked far earlier than normal and Norovirus was also far more infectious than usual.

And then, obviously, there is the now-constant measles outbreaks which are becoming commonplace in areas of the country.

I do not consider wearing a N95 mask in these conditions to be an abnormal response in this environment and will continue to do so until I feel that I am in a safe and responsible environment.

Blood shortage sparks 'crisis' at local blood banks

Summary:
Those who donate blood through Jan. 25 will be automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Blood donations are down about 35% in recent months.
Nationwide, about 400 blood drives were impacted or cancelled due to extreme winter weather last month alone, officials said, about three times as many as last year at this time.

COMMENT:
You want my blood put on a mask! ...see photo attached... I'm just critical of people not masking in a healthcare environment. No wonder there's a blood shortage everybody just had the flu! Jan 22, 2026 Wear a mask to help prevent airborne illness during flu season while drawing blood... stop smiling and saying cheese for the camera! Who knows how many germs are on that pillow?! Nurse has enough sense to cover the germs on her hands with gloves how about going the full monty and covering her mouth so she don't get germs on the gloves!? It's more like: Those who donate blood through Jan. 25 will be automatically entered for a chance to catch something called the Super flu in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mask to make it safer to donate blood.

I love myself,
The Masked Man

..I can't help but comment and state the obvious that these children likely got the covid and long covid from school to begin with. Obviously there needs be reforms in education that reflect and acknowledge the seriousness of this disease. Schools need to take responsibility, modify the way they teach and offer rewarding alternatives to what they are doing or else its just going to keep happening. This is very serious; long covid is a serious problem for children!. The school is obviously being negligible.

Enough of this complacency amongst parents, educators and legislators and even the working class  must seek reform across the board ..this is lost innocence...I can't help but think routine online schooling is one solution and a system that rewards online teachers(and rewards participating parents) and remote learning is something that needs to be invested in to be fair to children. We need to develop society as well to embrace online and remote learning. This is necessary to change society and educators because children's wellbeing is at stake and so is our wellbeing. This is going to cost us all in the long haul so we might as well invest some time, thought and reform in this matter.

In my opinion we must modify behavior and develop new system and new program to accommodate new challenges in the face of these human conditions rather than be complacent and expect something or someone to magically fix this problem we have with outbreaks that victimize our children with diseases that have long term repercussions on their health and well being. No child should be deprived an education nor should they have to risk catching a disease for the sake of education in a world with the technology and innovations we have such as online internet.

It's about using all the tools and innovations we have ... Just as an example I can state from personal experience that I learn things online. As a matter of fact the only places I can even find anything of educational value or interest to me is through the written word or by learning remotely online.. I prefer to continue my eduction through sites such as these:

&

..surely there are online programs being developed  and surely teachers, parents, and children that can embrace todays technology and innovations so that children  may continue their lives of learning! Education is so exciting and beautiful. The aim of  education  is the liberation of the human intellect and to instill a love for learning. We teach people how to continue to learn even outside the institution. The educated person has the skills and know how to continue to learn for the rest of their lives and that's what we want for children.

If you ask me, seems to me ideally adults should continue their education alongside their children! That might be part of the problem the lack of education for all parties concerned.
