SUMMARY - Two landslides in the country of Nepal claimed the lives of seven people. Four people were killed in the Bajhang district when a house was swept away, including a grandmother and two of her grandchildren. Three other people were killed in the Jajarkot district when a temporary shelter became buried in a landslide. The causes were not explicit although Nepal is currently in its monsoon season where heavy rainfalls frequently cause landslides.

SUMMARY - The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Mpox (formerly known as "Monkeypox") outbreak on the continent of Africa a public health emergency of international concern. The Democratic Republic of Congo (not to be confused with the Republic of Congo) along with nearby countries are experiencing outbreaks of the illness at this time. SUMMARY - Five people have been stricken with Legionnaire's Disease after being near a resort hotel in the state of New Hampshire. The suspected source for the disease is a cooling tower that, for unknown reasons, is still in operation while officials implement methods to eradicate the disease. Persons within a half-mile of the cooling tower are advised to watch themselves for symptoms.

SUMMARY - In the state of Maharashtra, the city of Nashik is dealing with 103 cases of Dengue Fever in the past week alone. The government response to this outbreak has been for the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) sending 62 teams to over 18,000 households to identify and eradicate possible breeding sites for mosquitoes, amongst other activities.
