SUMMARY - One of two food suppliers, responsible for a mass food poisoning incident at the company 'ByteDance' in late July, has now been allowed to serve food again following the lifting of their suspension. Pu Tien Services will now be able to serve food again but will be under close surveillance by the Singapore Food Authority (SFA). 169 people were afflicted by gastroenteritis with 17 people hospitalized. All have since recovered.

SUMMARY - A hospital in the province of Ontario has brought back masking requirements as a result of an outbreak of Covid-19 cases within the hospital. Guelph General Hospital is requiring persons to wear masks in clinical areas. It is not known what types of masks are required.

SUMMARY - A study from the University of Tokyo suggests that unpasteurized ("raw") milk that is contaminated with HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) can infect humans by using mice as the test subjects. Subsequently, the same milk can remain infectious for five weeks. Heating the milk, however, reduced the virus levels to 1/30,000 from their starting level.

SUMMARY - An additional 7 million pounds of Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. products are being recalled as a result of an investigation into a Listeria outbreak that has resulted in over 30 hospitalizations and two deaths. A recent development in the investigation is that an unopened Boar's Head product contained the same strain of Listeria that has been identified in some of the patients.

SUMMARY - The Agricultural Department in the country of Greece has banned the transportation of sheep and goats across the country in an effort to stem the outbreak of the virus Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), which can kill between 80% to 100% of infected animals. The outbreak was first uncovered on July 11th and 7,000 animals have since been killed. Greece has the largest number of goats in Europe.

SUMMARY - Milk production has declined for 12 straight months compared to production from one year ago, according to a report from the Agricultural Department. Factors for the decreased production includes the effects from the HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) outbreak affecting dairy cattle, climate change and a shortage of replacement cows.
