Post by: Steve on September 04, 2023, 01:08:20 pm
SUMMARY - Chinese and Swedish researchers have published results of their experiments concerning the recent BA.2.86 Covid variant (nicknamed "Pirola") and have found that it may not be able to out-compete EG.5.1 but that it is better at evading immunity. Although more studies are to be released about this variant, the early indicators are that this may not the next significant variant of Covid (such as Alpha, Delta & Omicron) despite the large number of differences with it's spike protein.
