I wonder if they will see another wave within a short period of time from now with this new XBB.2.3.

SUMMARY - XBB.2.3 is a rising subvariant in India and is hypothesized to replace XBB.1.16. It is being called "Acrux" (after the brightest star in the southern hemisphere). There is information on how it's spike protein is different than XBB.1.16.
