The 2023 National Football League (NFL) Draft will be in Kansas City, Missouri this year, starting tomorrow (April 27) and ending on Saturday.
Prolonged gatherings of densely-packed people who are not masked or insufficiently masked are capable of becoming superspreader events. A lot of these people are going to be coming to Kansas City and then leaving.
It should be interesting to see if the wastewater levels indicate an increase after a few weeks.
Unfortunately, the 2022 NFL Draft was in Las Vegas (April 28-30), so it would be hard to separate out if there was a substantial increase in wastewater levels solely because of the NFL Draft due to Las Vegas being a popular tourist destination outside of the draft.
