Quinnipiac University (February 2, 2026): A norovirus outbreak was reported at The Ledges residence hall on the Hamden, Connecticut campus, with the university's medical director issuing an alert to students regarding symptoms, prevention, and medical care.'

"HAMDEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Quinnipiac University has reported cases of viral gastroenteritis, commonly called the “stomach flu,” among residents of Ledges Residence Hall.

The university’s medical director sent a letter to students living in The Ledges last week offering guidance on symptoms, prevention and when to seek medical care after the cases were reported.

“Keeping students healthy and informed is a top priority for the university,” said John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations at Quinnipiac University. “The university will continue to closely monitor the situation and support affected students.”

The illness is highly contagious and is most commonly caused by norovirus in adults."
