SUMMARY - At least 80 are dead and 2,100 cases of cholera have been recorded in five states (the "Darfur states": North Darfur, South Darfur, West Darfur, Central Darfur & East Darfur) in the country of Sudan. At least 640,000 more individuals are in danger of contracting the disease unless preventive measures are taken. Complicating the ability to fight the outbreak is the ongoing civil war in the country between the government and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) which began in April 2023.
