A little farther down in the article it states, "He previously tested positive for COVID-19 in July 2022, though he only experienced "mild symptoms" at the time." So it looks like this is his second bout with COVID.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari who is 69 years old tested positive for Covid on Tuesday April 1st. As This is his second case of Covid as he previously had it in July of 2022.
