SUMMARY - The parents of the child who died in Texas from measles appeared in an interview where they continued to urge others to avoid vaccinating their kids.
COMMENTARY - To be fair, they only lost 20% of their children to measles... ::)

I might be criticized for this but measles is an airborne disease so I don't see why masking isn't recommended as well as vaccines for these measles outbreaks. When any virus like measles starts creating havoc it only seems fair to me to mention the effectiveness for masks as well. By the way one of the things valuable about masking is that it tends to be effective against virtually all airborne viruses. When I see a multitude of airborne viruses hitting I think as we'll mask for those that don't or won't vax to help them out as well. I just don't see why masks aren't recommended as well as the vaccines when outbreaks occur. Why take less measures when more are available and they are effective measures?
To me people are fighting diseases and outbreaks like bad martial artists that only know how to throw a jab... a good martial artist learns quite a number of techniques blocking, punching, kicking, manuevering etc. They learn these techniques until they become a habit hoping they don't have to use them in self defense. Martial artists learn all the moves not just one line of defense. One line of defense against a multitude of serious viruses is just not enough to be good fighter. These are crappy fighters. If you want to beat an outbreak use more not less than a jab in your fights ..to me this is the same inside the rings as well as outside the ring.
There was a recent outbreak of measles like 300 cases around newborns in Texas hospital... ya can't give vaccine to infants and while one cannot prove a mask may havet prevented this outbreak completely they are masking now trying to mend damages... A mask mandate amongst hospital staff, guests and adults and those of age to wear one could have prevented or at least greatly reduced the number of those infected in that baby ward. I think we should mask for babies when working with them. Use the full range of self defense measures. Ever watch a fight where a guy just jabs over and over and that's the only move he makes and can't do anything else?
The Masked Man
P.S. one of the reasons I love the mask is I gotta mask for covid anyway, so while I am at it, I might as well mask for the other airborne viruses whenever they become a problem for others. Again I'm not ignoring covid or long covid and I'm already masking for that so I might wup and beat or prevent other airborne disease... its a little like if people don't try to prevent covid with a mask they are going to get it ... I'm just saying it seems practical to go ahead and attempt to prevent all other airborne diseases while attempting to prevent long covid with a mask at the same time.
