SUMMARY - In the country of Japan, officials have revealed that a poultry farm in Ibaraki Prefecture has been infected with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), marking the first time this season that HPAI has been detected in eastern Japan. 970,000 hens were killed by authorities as a result of the infection. This is the 10th HPAI occurrence on a poultry farm in Japan this season.

COMMENT: Not once do I ever hear "This is of public concern! Of course it is! I am part of the public! That sounds pretty bad to me and I know it is of public concern.. a dog ate a snow goose and got infected.. I wouldn't downplay that as something that won't happen again and again.. dogs and cats are gonna eat prey that is injured, disoriented, sick and infected..that's easy prey. I'm concerned with snow geese as well as backyard roosters carrying avian flu...
Here's a link of me following around neighbor's stray rooster .. Tired of public agencies disregarding my concerns so I snidely and sarcastically remark to animal care and control in the video "Thank you for all you do" because they fail to take my concerns about avian flu seriously. They don't fine my neighbors and animal control argues that this isn't my yard whenever I give them videos to help me prevent these stray roosters from entering my backyard and after five years of this off and on I am frustrated and don't want my dog to sniff the trail of this rooster's feces. I only have a little area I can walk my dog in and it's my own yard. I have a right to be thoroughly concerned and scared of my dog getting avian flu in a trail of feces. I have to totally avoid walking my dog in this area for days every time this happens..sometimes its a whole flock and roosters can get very aggressive around hens and flap violently in your face and get stuff in your eyes you can easily get eye conjunctivitis or worse from these critters as beautiful as they might be:

They are so lucky I treat animals with respect. A lesser man would lose it!
For all I know these roosters might have avian flu just like the snow geese why should a man of my importance take chances around either?...

..why in the aforementioned video is the owner of the chickens not thanking me for returning his stray chickens!? ??? And am I the only one that smartly masks around flocks of domesticated chicken and roosters to help prevent the spread of avian influenza!? Sobeit!

Here's a personal question that needs not be answered but that I want people to ask of themselves: That was the second dog to die in Alberta... What's your back up plan if avian flu in reality should be of public concern? How many dead dogs, dead cats, dead kittens, etc. is it going to take?
(because they whoever they is, most likely aren't going to tell you when it should be of public concern.. you aren't going to receive fair warning from whoever you think is in charge it is highly unlikely you will be told to put on a mask for your protection prior to when avian flu strikes.. you and only you can initiate and decide what your backup plan is prior to a real outbreak be it avian flu, covid or something else. I've certainly got a back up plan in place for the next big significant outbreak...
...It's not normal to have all these birds and animals dying and dead with avian flu so why deny this or be numb about it? Why try being normal in an abnormal reality? Why not alter behavior that acknowledges reality that there is a threat? I choose to live as if a lot of fellow creatures are dying of avian flu because they are...I learn from recent history. I'm certainly not just going to submissively let what happened with covid happen to me. I am a person of great importance and so I treat myself that way. I'm well worth masking for. Once bitten twice shy and I'm Better safe than sorry. I'm expecting another catastrophic outbreak might occur in my lifetime and it won't be as scary as the first ..it wont surprise me nor will I let it take me by surprise call me a fool if you'd like but I have a back up plan... we shall use what we learned from the first outbreak.
...When is it too close for comfort for you?
...How many animals do we need to see dead of avian flu before we get concerned enough to create a backup plan for ourselves?

COMMENT:
… this is dead serious bad news .. avian flu in our pet dogs(and cats)!? This is serious. This is of colossal public concern. It is impossible to resist commenting on this one considering this is a momentous event in history.
An astronomical numerical proportion of us are so close to our animals and pets we love them so. This takes us that much closer to human to human widespread avian catastrophe.
...this hits a very personal note for me. I am one who takes all precautions including masking outdoors and I have a small toy breed dog that I keep in close quarters with me inside. I walk my dog on a leashe on my property daily in my own backyard. Off and on for several years now, I have had to deal with neighbor's stray dog and stray roosters on our property.
May not seem like a big deal but it is a big deal to me and it is a big deal to those who respect animals, science, and the monitoring of avian flu. I don't prefer my little dog treading or walking in the feces or grazing area of these stray domesticated livestock or stray domesticated animals. My local Animal care and control have not been very effective or conscientious of avian flu and its impact on the world for me.
People, Please contain your animals and livestock out of respect for your neighbors and out of respect for the very real avian flu! This is not “little house on the prairie” a fairytale television show where we all mingle freely together hand in hand all animals living in harmony where all species hug kiss and roll around in one another’s feces and bedding..
...let’s get real and number the contact points for me personally:
.1) There’s birds overhead some of which have avian flu..
2) the neighbors have backyard chickens and roosters…
3)"Rocky" the neighbor’s dog who is a chicken herding dog has Been residing with roosters and chickens.
4) CONTACT! I don’t want a big dirty unleashed dog who resides with roosters and chickens coming up to me everyday trying to play with me or my little dog who is leashed in my own yard trying to relieve himself.(not too mention I especially don't want stray roosters or their trail of feces in my yard at this stage in my life because I only have less than half and acre to walk my little dog on leash everyday in an area which is in my own little backyard!)
Some things are just too close for comfort
Keep your hands and paws to yourselves some of us don’t like to be touched without the privilege of being able to at least give our consent first. Some of us prefer “no touching”...
...I just don't wanna play with "Rocky" my unresponsible neighbor's dog..its not fair to "Rocky" either . He's a beautiful dog but he just shouldn't be in my yard I don't wanna reinforce his behavior of being in my yard by playing with him besides he's around dirty roosters all day as seen here:

..I like him I just don't want him all over me and my little dog that I have on leashe ..you know!? He might have some rooster feces under his nails ..I just shouldn't be forced to play with other people's pets especially because I have serious concerns over avian flu and he is a dog exposed to roosters and chickens all day. People just don’t care .. A dog just died in Alberta with avian flu and my neighbors just let their dogs and roosters all over the place. It’s stupid.
"Tips for preventing HPAI infection in dogs and cats are the same as for many other infectious diseases: Keep cats indoors. Keep pets that do go outdoors away from wild birds, poultry, and cattle and their environments. Prevent pets from eating dead birds or other animals." and I might add keep your pets away from me! don't let your animals stray and respect your neighbors who might be more sensitive and educated about avian flu!
People who mask and take precautions and are going the extra mile to stay safe and prevent airborne illness and disease such as myself don't necessarily appreciate stray dogs or stray livestock in their yards! Please contain your animals for the animal's sake! Be respectful to your neighbors.
You with your stray roosters, big stray dog your children and maskless family, take your own chances for all I care, but please stay way from me, the Masked Man and my yard & don't make others, me, my loved ones or my little buddy who is my dog take chances with avian flu and don't make us walk in your livestock's feces! >:( Take responsibility.

P.S. Number one concern for me as a masked guy is preventing my dog from sniffing or inhaling a trail of rooster feces from a flock of neighbor's backyard roosters that may have entered my yard! Not the easiest thing to do. Dogs sniff and inhale the ground big time.
I personally would not enforce this law but what if I get exposed to avian flu first? (at least I wear a mask but my dog could get it from an unnecessary exposure then I would get it from my dog inside the house if I fail to take a lot of precautions in my own yard if there is an infection from neighbor's backyard rooster feces in my yard) here's just a little excerpt from the North Carolina State legislation (you know this law exists for a reason..Think about all the reasons these laws exist..Keep in mind, if any of these birds are found to have avian flu during an avian influenza (AI) outbreak, many birds, both wild and domestic, may be infected and die from the disease. For domestic flocks, some may be also be depopulated (euthanized) to control the spread of the disease...
"(c) If it shall appear to any magistrate that after three days' notice any person persists in allowing his fowls to run at large in violation of this section and fails or refuses to keep them upon his own premises, then the said magistrate may, in his discretion, order any sheriff or other officer to kill the fowls when they are running at large as herein provided. SUMMARY - A suspected outbreak of bird flu in Telangana's Wanaparthy district (in the nation of India) has resulted in the death of 2,500 chickens at a farm during the last three days, leading the authorities to sound an alert.
NOTE - The chickens died of the suspected ailment, not killed once the outbreak was discovered. Ah man crows!? I really have have a fondness for crows. I just like their voice. They are similar to vultures in that they to scavenge a lot. Is the avian flu mutating so much that no species is impervious to this diseases not even the tough old crow!? This bird flu truly hurts us all for each animal in this world plays a vital role on our lives. We are in that chain and part of the animal kingdom ourselves. When other animals are sick or hurt is a great loss and challenge for everyone in that chain.
From a layperson's view so far I am thinking the possum is the most impervious to diseases .. I would think that vultures and animals like crows that that typically have the ability to eat a lot of meat off of dead animals would be more hardy and not pick up diseases but evidently even birds like crows are getting bird flu. Then again animals like crows and vultures are likely to carry diseases because they pick the bone off of carcasses and those carcasses may have been victims of bird flu so it makes sense animals that consume dead animals might get sick.
It's hard to objective about all these animals getting sick. I just wrote a children's wake up in the morning song with my electric guitar featuring crow sounds in it

SUMMARY - In the nation of Scotland, HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) has been reported on a farm called "Over Ascreavie House" in the council area of Angus. A 1.8 mile containment zone and 6.2 mile surveillance zone has been declared in the area. This is the first incident of reported HPAI in Scotland since the summer of 2023.
