SUMMARY - Covid variant XEC now appears to be in at least half of the 50 states in the country of the United States. The state of New Jersey has at least 15 cases with California and Virginia with at least 10 cases. XEC appears to be a combination of prior Covid variants KS.1.1 and KP.3.3.

SUMMARY - Covid variant XEC, identified in the country of Germany in June of this year, has seen growth in Germany and other countries such as Denmark. It appears to have a slight transmission advantage over other recent Covid variants although whether that advantage translates into XEC becoming the eventual dominant strain remains to be seen.
