I do not ever recall a Summer flash flood event like this before in CT. In the early 2010s there was a significant event on Long Island, NY where double-digit rainfall amounts were recorded.

SUMMARY - In the state of Connecticut, a flash flood emergency has been declared for Fairfield & New Haven counties as 13 to 23cm (5" to 9" imperial) of rain has fallen in those counties during the day. Mudslides, overrun bridges & flooded roadways have occurred. Authorities urge citizens of affected areas to stay home.
