SUMMARY - In the state of Oregon (Country: United States), there have been 20 cases of shellfish poisoning, causing the state to close their coast for mussel harvesting. The neighboring state of Washington has also done the same. Shellfish poisoning is not considered fatal but severe cases do require significant hospitalization which may include sufferers being put on a ventilator.
