SUMMARY - Officials in the country of New Zealand predict that more extreme rainfall will yield more cryptosporidiosis outbreaks. They cited that 13 such outbreaks coincided with extreme weather events between the years 1997 and 2015. New Zealand has had 16,000 cases of the illness between the years 1997 and 2015.
