SUMMARY - The Health Services Agency (UKHSA) has released updated figures for the Pertussis (otherwise known as "whooping cough") outbreak affecting that country. There are now over 10,000 known cases of the illness with 10 deaths.

SUMMARY - In the United Kingdom, 2,793 confirmed cases of pertussis (otherwise known as "whooping cough") have occurred within the first three months of 2024, resulting in at least 5 infant deaths. Masking and isolation requirements have returned to the affected areas. The current confirmed cases is three times higher than the entire number of cases in 2023.
NOTE - The original subject title for this thread was "Pertussis - United Kingdom - 2,793 cases, 5 infant deaths - Masking returns." The subject title has since been changed in order to reflect the new nature of the thread with being a repository for all events of Pertussis in the UK for the year 2024.
