Here is a follow-up to the above reddit post. The article has more details concerning the 13-year old in Canada that contracted H5N1. Of note is that she did completely recover, that the exact strain was the D1.1 strain of the H5N1 HPAI virus and "that the viral load remained consistently higher in her lower lungs than in her upper respiratory tract, which suggests potential gaps in current diagnostic testing methods."
