ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, part of the CDC) just had one of their big 3-day meetings of the year (next one is in October, and they're livestreamed to the public). Quite a few interesting points on the COVID front, including: how much the data glut is impacting assessment and forecasting (which, duh); which age groups have the highest hospitalization rates, and what percentage of each of those group has zero co-morbidities (a key point I do not see being discussed outside of COVID-conscious circles); who's getting vaccinated, who isn't, and the reasons behind both; how often we should be getting vaccinated vs reality, and why; and more. Patrick the BioSTEAMist, bless him, summarized the relevant 3.5 hours of meeting into two relatively short videos:
Part 1 (9:34)
Part 2 (7:50)
