COMMENT:
That much money would have likely saved some lives so that's not stiff enough penalty.
In this case "The loans were part of the Paycheck Protection Program, which was created by Congress to help businesses retain employees and cover essential expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic". I maintain that stealing money or using money in a fraudulent manner that was was 'medically' ordained or intended to save lives or was intended to help those who suffered from from covid related issues and incidences is equivalent to taking some lives in my book.
Just as an example a 50,000 dollar surgery would save a persons's life easily.
The real cost of the money stolen could have without a doubt saved a few lives. The money was originally intended and ordained to save lives...Lives were stolen not money.
Believe me if the money was intended for covid research some real humanitarian efforts were made to legitimately help businesses who were trulyeffected directly by the pandemic ...it is money intended to save lives..all 'medical' intended money saves lives in the long run. When people stop getting covid they stop getting long covid and so that prevents complications which can require expensive treatment and surgeries.. it all boils down to the same thing... he didn't just steal money... he stole from humanity
...Lives were stolen not money.
Talk about hitting somebody when they are already down covid fraud is just evil. That's a crime against humanity no doubt.
Covid fraud is the act of taking something away that was supposed to ease human suffering and save lives... The end result of covid fraud is the same as and is equivalent to inflicting suffering and pain and taking away some peoples' lives from a distance in a somewhat remote manner in which one hasn't met the victims up close.
..of course thus far this is an alleged case and still has to go to court to prove the man guilty or innocence of bank fraud, wire fraud and illegal monetary. transactions.
I personally think when people steal money that was intended as 'medical' money that classifies this directly as a crime against humanity. The victims of this are you and me, or relatives and the general population who need medical help and advancement and the victims remain unsung and unacknowledged and will never get their day in court because they remain nameless and one can't determine what the true extent of the damage is.. they stole the money before it could save a life.. an extremely vicious, conniving act and and evil. The true victims didn't stand a chance.. to me this is murder from afar and in advance.. a true crime against humanity because the money was intended and originally ordained for humanitarian efforts and would have saved lives and would have eased human suffering.
