Mark Lanegan who was the lead singer of screaming trees died on February 22nd of 2022. He was 57 years old at the time of his death. While his official cause of death was never released, in 2021 he was said to be dealing with Kidney disease and battled a severe case of covid in the hospital. I was unable to find the exact date he tested positive for Covid.
