SUMMARY - A strain of H5N1 has been found to 'efficiently' spread amongst ferrets. The study has not been peer-reviewed yet. However, the study did find that the strain (2.3.4.4b) was able to be spread amongst ferrets and
there was evidence that the spread was also airborne. Ferrets have been considered a close facsimile to humans in regard to how humans would fare against exposure to the same type of viruses.
