SUMMARY - In the United States (state of Massachusetts), a backyard flock of poultry was infected with HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza). The flock was subsequently killed ("depopulated" as is written in the article).

NOTE - HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) consists of a range of avian influenza strains, of which H5N1 is the strain of that group of strains that is best known to the public.
