SUMMARY - H5N1 has been detected in cat food served at an animal shelter in South Korea, leading to sickened cats and one cat dying as a result. No humans have been known to be infected by this incident, either as a result of serving the food or being exposed to cats who have eaten the food (regardless if they have gotten sick from it).
