SUMMARY - In the country of Gabon, HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) was detected in poultry at an open market in the city of Libreville. The poultry was infected with H5N1 variant of HPAI and could not be traced back to any particular farm. This is the first detection of HPAI in Gabon since 2022.
