2026 Legionella Outbreak in Harlem, New York City
This new outbreak is unlikely to be linked to the outbreak caused in the summer of 2025. There are two new cases for residents of the apartments at 3333 Broadway, New York, NY 10031. Residents at this facility are advised to boil all potable water (drinking or cleaning) before use. The plumbing system at this large apartment complex is being tested to identify the levels of Legionella pneumonia present. A New York City Department of Health Representative said the following: “We are looking specifically at the hot water supply since Legionella likes to grow in hot water environments.

At least a dozen Hamilton residents have died from Legionnaires’ disease since 2018, public records show (Not all cases have been definitively linked to Trenton Water Works).ByJeff Pillets
February 11, 2026
At least 12 residents of one suburban Mercer County community have died over the past half-decade from Legionnaires’ disease, a form of pneumonia caused by bacteria that can thrive in stagnant tap water.
The deaths in Hamilton Township, a bedroom community of 92,000 people, were enumerated Tuesday in data released by township health officials in response to a public information request by a local blogger.
The data, which was shared with The Jersey Vindicator, shows that the impact of waterborne illness in towns served by the troubled Trenton Water Works could be much higher than was widely understood by the public.

Craigieburn and nearby suburbs Australia,
The Department of Health is investigating an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in Craigieburn and nearby suburbs. As of 18 March 2026, six cases have been reported.
Legionnaires’ disease is caught by breathing in tiny water droplets containing the bacteria. It is not spread from person to person and not spread by drinking contaminated water.
People at higher risk include:
🚬 smokers
🩺 individuals with underlying medical conditions
🧑🤝🧑 those over 40 (with those over 65 at greater risk)
People who live in, work in or have recently visited Craigieburn, Mickleham, Greenvale or Roxburgh Park since late February and experience flu‑like symptoms are urged to seek medical advice promptly.
