Tater tots recalled in 26 states due to plastic contamination: FDA

"TOPEKA (KSNT) – Federal health officials say an Idaho company is recalling over 38,000 cases of tater tots sold in numerous states as the products may be contaminated with plastic pieces.
The Food and Drug Administration reports that McCain Foods USA Inc. is voluntarily recalling around 38,800 cases of tater tots. The products are reportedly contaminated with “clear hard plastic fragments” and were distributed in 26 states across the nation.

The tater tots were distributed in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. The FDA classified the recall on Jan. 6 as a Class II.
