“We do have two players that have illnesses, medical issues, whatever you want to call it, LT Overton and Kelby Collins,” DeBoer said."

??? ”whatever you want to call it” !? .. talk about an uneducated guess! Jeesh! I’m not sure I trust a guy like that. Certainly wouldn’t want to work alongside a guy like that.. sounds dangerous.

Of course I’m concerned about long covid and whooping cough just made several special appearances in my county not too mention pneumonia just killed my uncle. Two of my loved one’s grand-babies are sick in Florida right now keeping mama up all night in terror “with whatever it is you want to call it”and in a week we mask up to talk to a surgeon about gall bladder surgery for my loved one.. not too mention my loved one’s cousin got some surgery and then died at home later because he had caught covid at the hospital…

I definitely suggest to these players to seek medical diagnosis by professionals. Sorry to hear the game is in jeopardy. I really feel for the team  ::) ...

I also recommend  masking for one another in the pinch you all are in as I haven’t  been sick in six years for masking,

..we briefly interrupt Data Report's 2025 US Sports Illness Thread for a very special message...

Masked Man proposes a Goin' For The Gold Sports Illness Fundraising Event

We need a fundraiser to help sports players raise money so they can get proper medical diagnosis for their undetermined illnesses.  Obviously the coaches aren't helping these players determine what these "illnesses" actually are.. perhaps they don't have enough money!

So I propose something like this:

A better future for all is being built today because people like you care enough to support it. All across the sporting world, big ideas are leading to breakthroughs that will help our children, our grandchildren, and professional athletes and ourselves live happier, healthier lives. During this flu season of giving, fellow athletes, team players  and general public please make the most generous donation you can by 12/31, and you could also qualify for a possible tax deduction.

We are dedicated to transparency and fiscal responsibility. All donations are tax-exempt to the extent allowed by law.
Donation Information
CHOOSE YOUR DONATION AMOUNT*

$ 1,000.00
$ 500.00
$ 250.00
$ 100.00
$ 54.00
$ 36.00
$ 18.00
Other

$

Use my donation where it is most needed.
Use my donation to support proper diagnosis for professional sports players in determining what their "illnesses" actually are:

CHOOSE YOUR DONATION FREQUENCY *
One-time gift
Recurring gift (the most efficient way to support players who are chronically ill)

Donate in honor or in memory of a loved one (Optional)
In honor of: In memory of: (I.E. 1 my uncle Dave who loved football and died of pneumonia or I.E. 2 my loved one's cousin caught covid in the hospital and then died from covid complications so here's some money to find out precisely what illness it is that you top pro athletes are battling with and spreading)

Would you like a tribute card with a personal message mailed on your behalf? (IE "We are pulling for ya Terry Bradshaw.. here's a donation to figure out what is wrong with ya and why you are sick")

... perhaps coaches could get other players to pitch in so that the players with undetermined "illness" can afford to seek professional healthcare for a proper diagnosis simply outta respect for one another! Give each other Full disclosure of whatever diseases and illnesses you got for the sake of each other's loved ones and families to help stop the spread of disease and illness.

:)

Obviously professional sports players need your help in determining whatever "illness" they have because what goes around comes around.

Also donate some masks to all those that need them which is all of them, ;)
I am a protector.
Blessings,
The Masked Man

P.S. NOTE/Disclaimer : This reply was  solely intended  for entertainment and educational purposes only... a rhetorical mock fundraiser solely in efforts to help stop the senseless spread of disease and illness. Seriously, If you or a loved one feel ill please seek professional medical diagnosis and please make efforts to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses and diseases. Please act responsibly and share the diagnosis with one another rather than sharing the illness with one another. I never forget the greatest treasure is life.

The Knicks' star point guard appeared in terrible condition during team availability late this week, coughing repeatedly and struggling with his voice.

The All-Star guard appeared to be battling a significant illness, coughing several times throughout his time with reporters.

Reporter Steve Popper highlighted the severity, noting that Brunson "sounded terrible - kind of lost his voice." Popper added he didn't ask Brunson directly about playing because the answer would inevitably be,x "I'm fine."

COMMENTARY: I can't even even imagine what it must be like to play in opposition to Brunson... it would be awkward..I'd be like he's obviously sick.. don't get in his face and just let him have the ball.

There is often an inherent intimidation many of us  feel in the presence of a sick or ill person on and off the field. It throws us off and many of us become uncomfortable and are at a loss of what to do or even how to behave around  a sick one. We tend to be more gentle if we have a conscience and ‘go easy’ on a sick one. We often tiptoe around a sick one and avoid approaching a sick one. It simply makes us hesitate a little and think twice.

What I’m getting at is this; speaking only from my own experience in society and groups in my experience other players aren’t going to necessarily play with the same usual vigor or vitality around a sick Bruno.. that’s my experience as a kid who played sports .. we’d just let a sick guy compete with himself and have the ball.. he’s sick! We’d go easy on a guy like that. It just changes the psychological state of the mind knowing your going up against a player with a handicap such as illness.. ya don’t play as hard. Ya might even feel sorry for a sick guy. All this races through the head of an opponent playing against a sick guy...

...It throws your game off. It’s confusing messes with your focus and messes with your morale going up against a sick guy. It’s not necessarily considered cool to pounce upon a player who is coughing and sputtering and showing signs of weakness… it’s not considered sportsmanlike to whup up on him especially if he’s a sick pup. It’s not considered a fair fight where I come from. I certainly played different against those who were disadvantaged or handicapped in a sporting game.

It would be interesting for a reporter to secretly or not secretely to ask other players especially opponents if they play differently or how it affects them psychologically when playing with or against a sick player. Bet ya it affects the comfort level and performance of at least a few players who are concerned. Some of these players show more sportsmanship and are more sensitive than others.

When I took loved one to hospital not long ago we masked and made everybody mask round us and down the hall it was quite obvious two hospital staff members were coughing their heads off.. I listened to them cough for hours. It's just sad and weird when people let others who are obviously sick continue on. There's nothing in place all policies and reason go out the window when it comes to protecting loved ones from illness and from people who are obviously sick and trying to do stuff while ill.

..It's like rotten eggs...

One person who is ill has a much bigger impact on the lives of others and on the group than they probably understand. An ill player has a negative effect on other players and the genuineness of the whole game much more significantly than they are probably aware of.
