No doubt these sports reporters fail miserably when it comes to covering the most important question such as “ what ails you!? Why are you sick? And what is your illness? Is it contagious?

It’s as if the sports reporters aren’t allowed to ask or follow up on the most important question of all: what is actually wrong and what is the illness? Its as if it is taboo and mum is the word.. a big secret ! It is forbidden to discuss illnesses or even inquire into them. They will discuss how many targets they hit, how many baskets they made or balls they caught til the cows come home but they haven’t a clue as to what illness they catch and pass to others as if it is underneath them and not worthy to share for the sake of furthering our understanding.

Of course we live in the days of covid where other viruses also abound and threaten humanity and it is an injustice not to share and document our illnesses because it just seems useful to one another to be open about the “illnesses’ for the sake of one another and for the sake of science and in the name of aiding medical advances.

“The 5 ws and h, or the 5W1H strategy, is a powerful tool for gathering information, analyzing situations, and ensuring effective communication. By asking the key questions of who, what, when, where, why, and how, individuals or teams can gain a comprehensive understanding of a topic and make informed decisions.”

Boxers can talk about how hard they hit each other in the head but they can’t seem to put a finger on what is wupping them virus -wise. Think about it: a virus is beating up a contender and they won’t even name it and a sports reporter can’t seem to to find reason to at least make efforts to ask what the illness is. This appears to me to not just be playin’ dumb.. it is dumb. When are people going to take illnesses seriously for the sake of us all? All illnesses are serious in my play book.

Here’s the real deal we have to appreciate and keep score about the animal/beast/virus that outdukes us all and whips us .. we have to respect viruses and show sportsmanship about what beats down us all .. we owe that to one another and to science and to the advance of medical practice. We all being human and on the same team I ask  Why people are in denial and not acknowledging viruses and illnesses beats me!

One is left to assume there appears some sort of shame involved that people need to get over when they get ill so we can learn more about these viruses. People need to stop hiding what their illnesses are so that we may further our understanding about that particular illness. Illnesses are a big deal in today’s day and age. We should keep score on The Who what where why and how’s when illness strikes!
